This was the view from the house.
Isle of Skye was the first place in Scotland my husband took me to. Maybe this is why I love it so much.
Skye is a hiker's paradise. Gentle hills, cliffs and impressive mountains - the scenery is fascinating
The Old Man of Storr is one of the most popular trails.
Volker and I had hiked this trail before without problems, but this time it wasn't so easy for me anymore.
14 years later and the old lady needs a hiking stick :)

It becomes pretty slippery after a rain shower, but we girls made it to Needlepoint at least.
The men ran up to the Old Man of Storr. My husband's hiking boots didn't like it. He had to fix them with zip ties.Portree is a nice little place to have lunch and to do some souvenir shopping
On our way to Elgol we stopped at the beach. The weather turned nasty on us.
In Elgol we took a boat ride. Maybe we would see seals, dolphins or even whales.
The seals were greeting us.
We were dropped off for an hour and explored the area.
Back on the boat we were given tea, hot chocolate and cookies
The view over the Cuillins is fascinating. So moody.
Our boatThree days flew by.Our next night would be special - we would sleep in a lighthouse!
